FearTheBear (FTB) is a solo instrumental project based in Sweden. Built on years of musical exploration and deep love for music, FTB makes cinematic, emotionally driven soundtracks for film, imagination and haunted minds.
Rooted in rock, prog, and hard rock, yet unbound by genre, the music draws inspiration from decades of legendary acts such as Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, Porcupine Tree, Black Sabbath but also modern instrumental bands like Long Distance Calling, Ugress, All India Radio, Zombi to name a few. The result is a blend of heaviness and sensitivity — sometimes raw and powerful, sometimes reflective and melodic — but never ambient nor orchestral.
FTB writes, performs, records, and mixes all music in the private studio, The Hybernation Loft. Guitar is the main instrument, but all elements are shaped to serve the cinematic vision. Mastering has so far been done by Cutting Room Studios, Stockholm.
Although the project has been in the works for several years, FearTheBear officially debuted in 2023 with the release of Cubs, followed by Sophomoria. The third album, The Northerner was released August 1, 2025.
FearTheBear’s music is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, Bandcamp, and more.
